normally i m smart enough to confront my own issues, but i ll need some help on this one. my saab has 145k miles and given the irreparable dent in the rear passenger door from the previous owner, and the crack in the bumper from when i spun out at 80mph on icy roads, not to mention the weirdly wired halo leds and hid kit on the headlights as well as the aftermarket stereo and 12" subs, i m having trouble establishing on whether or not i want to trade in this hot mess. at a glance the dealer said my car was worth $1k upon inspecting the relic, they dropped their offer to $200. so i ll skip the 3 hours of haggling and get to the point. i dropped the $290/mo initial cost of the 2011 honda crz i m looking at to $190/mo by having them essentially overvalue my car to $3500. that, given a 72 month payment plan gives me a rough $13600 as a total cost of the 46k miles crz. now that s not fantastic, but comparatively it s a great deal as far as getting rid of my saab which is, to be fair to the ol boy, just a black hole that sucks in money and returns a vaguely constant level of performance. should i do the trade in? (yes it s a certified honda dealer, no i didn t sign any paperwork, i m 21 years old with a short but good credit history.
